  Crap....help please

  so tonight my wife looked iver the wt for tomorrow.

  she said what she got out of it was that apostates are negative murmurers who can cause you to question jehovah and his earthly org and that it reminded her of the negativity caused when i told her i read ray franz's book.

  she said it caused me to question service, family worship night, and praying together.

  How are you supposed to get the respect you want if you're a pushover? Rolling over and playing dead won't solve anything. Don't forget people usually project themselves onto the people around them. Whatever he is complaining about with you, is probably a fault of his. If he has been abusive in any way, he NEEDS to understand this. You two may not be a great pair but just giving up will only make the cycle repeat itself with your next partners.

  You can't change him, you can only change yourself. Do things for yourself, be more independent. Buy yourself something nice, hire a personal trainer. Be your own woman, one who doesn't take his shit and will NOT put up with any kind of abuse, not for a second. He will have no choice but to respect and admire you. Don't do it for him, do it for yourself. If after some time of this things don't improve, then you can walk away from the marriage knowing there was nothing more you could do. Also you'll be walking away as a more attractive, more interesting you.

  It can be tough for a parent or family member to find out that one of their loved ones wants to leave the org. They likely won't understand, or even want to understand. In the JW mindset the only right answer is the JW answer. The only truth is the JW truth from the slave. This summer we had an entire convention dedicated to truth, which didn't contain a single word about how to actually find the truth in any given matter. Nothing about searching out information from all sources and viewpoints, considering them all objectively in light of presently known facts and information. The general message was, 'if it's from the watchtower or the bible , it's true. If not, it's Not true. If it disagrees in any way with the watchtower or the bible , it is automatically a lie from satan. How are people supposed to make honest decisions with this mindset?

  I can't imagine your mother's pain right now but the fact that she is on here reading yours and others' posts is important. Hopefully she is able to see the fact that you're not a bad person, mislead by the devil. That, and the fact that you've been here since 2006. That's a long time to wake up and remain "in."

  To 5go's mom: welcome to our forum, you will find all types here, all sharing one thing in common. We after a long, objective consideration of our beliefs, the bible, history and the world we live in have all come to the conclusion that this org. Does not have 'The Truth,' it never did. You will find some to be bitter, spiteful. Please remember that these people have been hurt badly by this org. And it's teachings and policies. Some lives have been ruined, families torn apart, loved ones lost because they would not have a simple blood transfusion. The list goes on and on. The knowledge that you have been lied to your whole life is painful.

  For many, learning that the org's policies directly serve to protect its name over the safety of children from pedophiles, or the fact that they were a manner of the UN for 11 years, or that Jerusalem wasn't destroyed in 607 but 587 BCE is a big shock. It also makes it tough to support such a group. Personally, finally accepting that the org. was wrong about 607 and therefore 1914,1918,1919 etc. was the last straw for me. Never another day knocking on doors, preaching what I knew to be lies.

  Hopefully this religion doesn't tear your family apart like it has mine and thousands of others.

  Just be glad she'll still talk to you! So many of us on here can't even get a single conversation with our mothers.

  And I agree with the above advice, cool it for a while... Let it sink in.

  nope he's not Recovery, I don't think. Recovery was much better read and spoken. He at least made an attempt to refute our arguments. Who knows what happened to him, but he was one of the ones who, despite his arrogance actually had something to say. SFPW is just a troll. Don't feed the troll.

  the pain of all the lies i am learning about the truth is making me think of moving to a nation where legal euthenesia is allowed.

  i take my medicine on a daily basis but it's not working, only so much medication will remove all the decades of guilt, lies being told and human intellect we suffocated by teaching the cult's methods of killing ideas.

  i don't deserve anything, lord jesus christ i repent of all my lies and will try to be a better person.

  You're right, but sometimes it's the DFing of someone close to you that wakes you up.

  For me, it was my mom. She was/is a DF'd believer. A while ago I told her the shunning is BS and I won't do it anymore. What did she say? "Sorry son, but it's Jehovah's arrangement!" Poor woman. I so wish I could reach her with TTATT

  some of the scriptures that were removed posed a problem for doctrine. The account of the adulteress poses a problem for the rules on shunning. Jesus wouldn't have shunned anyone like JWs do

  this is a documentary from louis theroux on his return visit to westboro baptist chutch - as wacky a bunch as you'll meet.

  but not that different, imho, as jdubs.. i never was a dub, but i hope as a human that i can share their pain.. being entirely secular here, it seems to me that some of the young ladies in the film need to experience 'worldly' love,.

  Which country is better to migrate Canada or Australia?

  i am sure nowhere is perfect but if we want to compare these two countries from different prospectives like racism, job, income/spending, quality of life, standard of living etc.

  can you please give me a rough idea by sharing your experiences.. .

  by the way, i am considering applying for a masters progrmme in any of the two countries.. .

  People talk funny in Australia... Canada is best.

  Besides, we have gorgeous scenery, it's safe and peaceful, and we have a solid economy. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
